Before you read this post, for the sake of transparency (if you are not aware) - I am a Ubisoft Star Player. I am not employed by Ubisoft. However, apart from being a Star Player I have created music for Ubisoft in collaboration with Hitrecord. These were paid community collaborations. In short, I am a creator who has access to developers on occasion.

The Ubisoft Forward Watch Party will continue as planned on July 12th, 12PM PST / 9PM CEST on my channel. Any donations made to the stream that day will go toward Black Girls Code. Black Girls Code works to "empower young women of color ages 7-17 to embrace the current tech marketplace as builders + creators".

If by now you aren't aware of the sexual allegations made against certain Ubisoft team members, you will find an article linked here that will brief you on these allegations. Ubisoft's recent statement on this matter can be found here.

First and foremost, I believe the victims. I've been a victim of sexual assault myself however those moments in my life are not tied to the gaming industry. Point blank: I believe predators should be held accountable.

I fully respect Star Players and creators who are not comfortable creating for Ubisoft at this time.

I’ve personally chosen not to boycott Ubisoft. I feel that it may be detrimental to countless devs who have done nothing wrong. I’m basing my choice on past responses from various developers regarding boycotts due to crunch. In those instances they’ve advised not to boycott because it impacts them as well.

I hope Ubisoft does the right thing. We should all remain critical and continue to support efforts made towards effective change. Steps should be taken to ensure the safety of developers as well as the creators and fans who interact with staff members.

I understand if you do not feel comfortable attending the stream. Please do not force yourself to support me if you feel conflicted. I appreciate you regardless.

Wishing safety to you and yours,

Denisse Takes

This is not a debate. This is not a matter of opinion. Black Lives Matter.

On May 30th I donated $50 to Colin Kaepernick’s: Know Your Rights Camp (Proof of donation:

My next Google Adsense payout will go towards black organizations.

Expect changes. If you are a creator and would like to come together to create meaningful content that can reinvigorate those on the ground fighting for Black Lives Matter please reach out. Hopefully, together we can organize effectively to promote this content and potentially secure donations for the purpose of change.

Although I will continue to create content that you’ve been supporting, different angles and topics will also be approached highlighting not only the work of black voices in the gaming industry but also those of all people of color and the LGBTQIA community. This is not a game. This is real life. It is time we all step up.

As a Dominican I am very aware of racism and colorism spread even within my own culture. We can't continue to watch black men, women and children die at the hands of the police or government.

I am thankful for police officers like those in Flint and Camden who showed solidarity with protestors - but that is not enough. They need to do better. They ALL need to do better. We need to make them do better.

VOTE. Raise your voice. Do not let this President knock you down. RISE UP. And when protesting, do NOT incite violence or looting because black people will suffer the consequences of your actions. People are in pain. That pain is one only black people can fully understand. Do not use this time to focus on the looting. Focus on what led us here. Martin Luther King said, “Social justice and progress are the absolute guarantors of riot prevention.” People have been murdered. Use your privilege and work towards justice and progress.

I am well aware that I will lose followers due to this. I do not care about losing followers. I refuse to be a creator who stays silent and allows the people that support them to suffer.

Say their names. Breonna Taylor. George Floyd. Ahmaud Arbery. Sandra Bland. Tony McDade. There are so many more. Take a stand.

If you have any suggestions on how I can do better for you as a creator please send an email to

If you ever feel threatened or harassed by someone in the comment section of my videos please report the comment and reach out to me. I try my best to moderate comments but I do miss things.

Wishing health and safety to you all, Denisse Takes
